Cookie Policy

By default we use only essential cookies and browser storage: they keep the site in your language and keep you signed in to the customer portal. Optional analytics run only if we switch them on and you agree, and you can change your choice at any time with “Cookie settings” in the footer.

What are cookies and similar technologies?

Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser; similar technologies such as local storage work in much the same way.

They let a site remember things between pages or visits, for example your language or the fact that you are signed in. Some are essential for the site to work; others, such as analytics, are optional.

Which cookies and storage do we use?

We use a small set of essential items, and optional analytics only with your consent.

At the time of writing no analytics tools are switched on, so only essential items are used and no cookie banner is shown. If we enable analytics, a banner will ask for your choice before anything optional loads, and this table will list the exact cookies.

Do essential cookies need my consent?

No. Essential cookies are strictly necessary to provide the website and the portal you ask for, so they cannot be switched off in our settings.

You can still block or delete them in your browser, but the site may then forget your language and the portal sign-in will not work.

How do analytics cookies work, and how do I give or withdraw consent?

Analytics cookies stay off unless you turn them on.

  • When analytics are configured, a banner offers Accept analytics, Essential only and Choose settings; optional scripts load only after you accept.
  • You can change your choice at any time with Cookie settings in the footer; once you withdraw consent, analytics no longer load from your next page view.
  • We use analytics only to understand how pages are used, not to build advertising profiles, and we do not use advertising cookies.

What about third-party content such as maps and WhatsApp?

Third-party services load only when you choose to use them.

  • Maps: our office map loads only when you click to show it; the map provider may then set its own cookies.
  • WhatsApp: WhatsApp buttons open WhatsApp, a Meta service with its own privacy terms.
  • Links to other websites: carriers, authorities and other sites we link to have their own cookie policies.

How can I manage cookies in my browser?

All major browsers let you view, block and delete cookies and site data in their privacy settings. Blocking all cookies stops the portal sign-in from working.

Where can I find more information?

How we handle personal data is explained in our Privacy Notice. For questions, email info@niloceanshipping.com.
