In practice: an ETA is only as reliable as its source and its date: a carrier schedule, a terminal update or an operator's estimate. Schedules have been unusually unreliable in 2026; Sea-Intelligence reported global schedule reliability of 49.9% in August 2026. In our portal every ETA shows its source, when it was last updated and a confidence level, and low-confidence ETAs are shown as a date range. Each change is logged with a reason.
Example: “ETA Umm Qasr 18–22 Nov · low confidence · source: carrier schedule · updated 3 Nov 14:20 GST.” When the feeder is confirmed, the range narrows to a single date.

ETA (estimated time of arrival) and ETD (estimated time of departure) are the planned arrival and departure times of a vessel, truck or shipment, and they can change until the event actually happens.
